About This Game

It’s been some weeks since Ranko and Astrid solved the mystery aboard the Marine Express submarine train during the special trip organized by St. Joachim Academy, the school they attend. Their lives have returned to normal, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be more mysteries to solve in the future. The day before the school’s big Christmas festival, the two friends are finishing their second term tests, but despite this being a crucial time for the alumni, the girls find themselves drawn into solving a new enigma.

A first-year student, Veronica Bell, approaches them to ask for their help investigating the disappearance of the sheet music for the big choir concert, which is scheduled as the final event before the school holidays. She suspects that one of the rebellious singers, known as “the Seven Bad Apples” of the academy, has hidden the scores in order to cancel the concert and avoid having to perform. Veronica needs those back before the performance the following day, so they decide to help her find them.

Join Ranko and Astrid in this short Xmas-y adventure and solve the mystery of the missing scores before it’s too late!

MAIN FEATURES

The Seven Bad Apples is a mystery story with pixel art graphics that emulate the style of classic Japanese text-based adventure games. It’s a short side story from the 2021 kinetic novel Murder on the Marine Express, and its unique cast of characters will present players with humorous conversations as they unravel this intriguing mystery set during the Christmas season. This time, the game features an interactive element that requires players to make decisions about Ranko’s actions in order to progress through the case.

These are some of the main features:

► An adventure game with a non-linear storyline that allows you to progress in the order you prefer.

► Seven daunting students to question in order to uncover the truth about the case.

► Retro-style art with pixel graphics, reminiscent of 8-bit text-based adventure games.

► Character profiles: Information about all those involved in the case can be accessed at any time during the investigation.

► Integrated wiki: A collection of data related to the academy’s students and the topics that emerge throughout the story.

► Customizable interface: Personalize the screen’s appearance with various background images.

► Around two hours of gameplay.

► Text available in English and Spanish. Japanese version coming soon.
